The idea for this site came from it taking way too long to discover true gems in these neighborhoods. And also from the sad fact that some great, unique, small, independent businesses and institutions have unfortunately closed their doors. This site/blog is dedicated to finding and featuring unique offerings in the area so more people can discover, enjoy, share and preserve what’s GOOD in our neighborhood–the Upper West Side and Upper East Side of Manhattan.
